2012 – 2021 – Best Lawyers in America
Mr. Grande was the first qui tam attorney recognized by his peers as a Best Lawyer and is a two-time honoree as Hawai’i Class Action Lawyer of the Year. Grande is the only Hawai’i attorney recognized for Consumer Protection Law, Qui Tam Law, and Privacy and Data Security Law. He was also recognized for Civil Rights Law and Employment Law.

Mr. Grande is editor in chief emeritus of the ABA Survey of State Class Action law, a publication co-founded by him in 1999. The Survey is published in Newberg on Class Actions and Consumer Class Actions, two of the pre-eminent publications on class action law and practice and is a source book for the ABA Annual National Institute on Class Actions.

Mr. Grande is a member of the Class of 1985, where he received the Susan McKay Memorial Moot Court Award, was a two-year member of the National Moot Court Team, an academic selection to the University of Hawai’i Law Review and selected to be a law clerk to the Honorable Edward King, Chief Justice, Federated States of Micronesia Supreme Court in Pohnpei, Micronesia.

Mr. Grande‘s former firm (Davis Levin Livingston Grande) received this award from the American Civil Liberties Union of Hawaii for exceptional legal contributions to civil liberties.

Hawai’i Lawyers Care (Volunteer Legal Services of Hawai’i
Mr. Grande received this award from Hawai’i Lawyers Care for the creation of Children with Lawyers, a program to deliver pro bono legal services to children.

City and County of Honolulu
Mr. Grande received this award from the City and County of Honolulu for oustanding service to the community for the establishment of Na Keiki Law Center of Hawaii.
1994 – Outstanding Delivery of Legal Services

Mr. Grande received this award from Hawai’i Lawyers Care for his volunteer work on behalf of low-income Hawai’i residents in establishing the “gap group” program in conjunction with the Hawai’i State Bar Association Lawyer and Referral Service.
